News Bits: PocketBible 3; New iPod, MacBook Pro Cases
April 28, 2006
- Laridian has released PocketBible 3, a long-awaited update with several new features. Highlights include a categorized book picker, context-sensitive “tap and hold” menus, a daily reading option, searchable notes, plus a new notes list that helps you find your annotations more easily and 16 colors of highlighting. My personal favorite is the new “3 tap” verse chooser that makes it much faster to get to a specific chapter and verse; it’s just like the verse chooser in the Palm OS version of My Bible. You can get the full details at the Laridian web site.
- Proporta has released a color-changing case for the Apple iPod Nano; it’s made of silicone and gets lighter as the temperature rises. The case comes in your choice of pink, blue, or charcoal for $19.95 and you can get it at the Proporta web site.
- Waterfield has just announced a new SleeveCase for the 17 inch MacBook Pro. It comes in either horizontal or vertical orientation with a variety of options, such as a flap, shoulder strap, and optional “piggyback” accessory bag for AC adapters and the like. I’m a big fan of the Waterfield SleeveCase and they make more than 40 sizes, so even if you don’t have a 17 inch MacBook Pro you’re 99% guaranteed to find one that’s a perfect fit for your laptop.
