Nintendo DS Gets Smaller and Better!

January 26, 2006

I just stumbled across this news posting on the Play-Asia web site—Nintendo is releasing a new Nintendo DS Lite that is both smaller and lighter than the regular version. It also has a cool new feature—the ability to adjust the screen brightness up and down by four steps. In all other respects, it is very similar to the DS that we all know and love—they’ve just rearranged a few things, like the position of the Start and Select buttons, the power LED, and the microphone.

Sorry folks, the announcement only mentions a release in Japan, but hopefully we’ll see the Nintendo DS Lite here in the US soon. If you just can’t wait, Play-Asia is taking preorders for the March 2 release at $169.90.
