Sony Announces New "Kitchen Sink" Handheld Device

January 9, 2003

Sony’s latest Palm OS Device, the NX90, certainly seems to have it all:

You can check out all of the tecnical details and a picture at the SonyStyle web site

It looks like a nice device, though of course I am a bit concerned with the “kitchen sink” mentality it seems to display. Everything possible is built in to one device, and that makes it both big and relatively heavy for a handheld. And the $799 price tag is certainly not for the faint of heart! I’m not sure that you can actually call this one “pocketable” at all. I think that for right now, I’ll stick with my Tungsten T. It does everything I could possibly want, and it certainly fits into any pocket in my wardrobe I’d care to put it in. And hopefully Sony will be coming out with a “T” sized device similar to the T665, but with virtual Graffiti and OS5. That might tempt me to switch.
