Shadowgate: Multiplayer RPG Coming to Palm OS, Pocket PC, SmartPhones

October 21, 2002

Virginia based Infinite Ventures today announced the development of Lands of Shadowgate, the first truly multiplayer multiplatform strategy video game for PDA’s and Smartphones including Microsoft Pocket PC and Palm OS5 compatible devices. The game makes use of Infinite Ventures’ proprietary Play-by-Sync technology allowing players with or without a wireless connection to play against other players. Play-by-Sync allows players without wireless to play on the road, return to their desk, and automatically sync the game to the Lands of Shadowgate servers. The results of other player’s actions will be sent back through the sync process and their conquests within the Lands of Shadowgate will unfold. Wireless game players will be able to enjoy this game anywhere, anytime. All players on all devices, world wide, with or without wireless will be able to play against each other. Lands of Shadowgate is the first game developed using this concept. Lands of Shadowgate will enter closed beta in November and open beta in December. It is expected to be available commercially in Q1 2003. For more details visit www.landsofshadowgate.com.
