Home Buying for Digerati
January 25, 2002

I received information about this product a while back and just got a chance to take a look at it. It’s an interesting concept, to be sure— a complete guide to everything you need to know about buying a house, including detailed background information, a database designed to help you keep track of the houses you’ve toured, and a mortgage calculator that can help you determine if you’re able to afford the payments once you’ve found the house of your dreams.
Since I’ve never purchased a house myself, I don’t feel entirely qualified to review this product. But from what I’ve read through the advice seems right on target, and the database is very well thought out. It includes places to enter lots of details concerning the houses you’ve seen, including the address, listing agent, nearby schools, square footage, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, whether the house has hardwood floors, a wet bar, a basement, etc. So if you’re in the market for a house, give this product a careful look. You can get a ten day trial or purchase a license for $19.95 at the AptHand web site.
