New HandSpring Devices Announced Today
September 17, 2001
Handspring has announced two new devices today, and they look like a great deal for the bargain-conscious shopper. The Visor Pro has 16MB of memory on board, a rechargeable battery, and uses a 33MHz Dragonball processor. It is available in silver, and also comes with a protective snap cover. According to the HandSpring web site, the Visor Pro weighs 5.7 ounces and measures 4.8 inches long by 3.0 inches wide, by 0.7 inches thick. It retails for $299.
The Visor Neo appears to be an updated version of the Visor Deluxe. It features 8MB of memory and a greyscale screen, but uses the standard AAA batteries instead of a rechargeable one. It comes in three new colors- smoke, red, and blue. It is the same size as the Visor Pro, though slightly lighter at 5.4 ounces. At just $199, it’s a bargain and would be a great entry-level handheld for any new user.
Even better, HandSpring is offering free shipping through their web site and a free VisorPhone module to everyone who purchases a HandSpring Visor handheld when you activate service. The hard part for you is going to be deciding which handheld to buy!
