One of the things I missed most in my switch from Palm OS to Windows Mobile for my daily device is Agendus—I’d used the application since way back when it was called ActionNames, and depended on it heavily every single day. When I head that iambic was finally creating a Windows Mobile version, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

Your handheld data is very important to you, but do you really want to spend a lot of time backing it up and making sure that a lost handheld or a computer crash doesn’t cause you to forget where you’re supposed to be and what you’re supposed to do when you get there? Palm Reader Pro
One of my favorite uses of a Palm OS device, aside from getting organized and playing games (not necessarily in that order) is reading ebooks. I’m a voracious reader, and I simply love having several books with me at any given time. Instead of having to lug around a bag full of books, I just put the electronic editions in my Kyocera 7135. That’s a good thing for my overloaded bookshelves as well!

Info Select 7
It’s that time of year again— New Year’s is often a time of reflection and intense planning for most people. I’ve been coming up with a few resolutions of my own, and one of them is to simplify and really get organized. One of my biggest problems has always been where to file away all of those little bits of information that may or may not be important. Inevitably when I toss something away, I really need it three weeks later, or three months. That’s where Info Select comes in, and it’s already changed how I do things.

Pocket TV Browser for Palm OS and Pocket PC
I’m warning you now: I don’t think I’ve been this excited about a piece of handheld software in a very long time, and it’s certainly going to show in this article! I’m the first to admit that I watch way too much TV, and I’ve always been annoyed at the lack of a really good “TV Guide” type of program for either the Palm OS or the Pocket PC. And now I have both, thanks to Pocket TV Browser.

With the proliferation of memory card formats available these days, is it any wonder that the card readers are multiplying as well? Thank goodness for the Flash Mate from Scribble! But I’m getting ahead of myself here— let’s take a look at the real star of this review.

TomeRaider
TomeRaider is an incredibly cool application that allows you to access massive amounts of information on your handheld device. Data Entry Alternatives
If you’re anything like me, you love your Palm OS handheld, but you may not be all that thrilled about trying to get your data into your device. Graffiti is nice and easy to learn, but you can’t enter data with a stylus as quickly as you can type it. Which is why a lot of us have invested in the various Palm keyboards, such as the GoType from Landware and the Stowaway folding keyboard. There’s also the various Graffiti area overlays such as Fitaly and SilkyBoard, but I’m talking about something a little different here— software tools that are designed to make your life and your data entry a lot easier. Today I’m covering a couple of desktop tools, and part two of this article will describe some of the Palm OS programs that can really speed things up and turn “information overload” into “cool, calm, and collected.”
