iFrogz ZipBags

April 11, 2007

iFrogz ZipBags

This little accessory may not look like much, but it’s incredibly useful. The idea of course is to wind up your headphones and put them inside when you’re done listening for a while, and the ZipBag product does the job well. The zipper is of good quality, with a metal pull, and is attached to the case in such a way that you’re unlikely to damage the headphone cords by getting them caught in the zipper. The exterior is black fabric, with a soft inner lining and a rigid interior shell that helps the case keep its shape and protect the contents. There’s a split-ring keyring attached to the top that you can use to clip on your keys or clip it onto a bag for ready access.

While this product is sold solely as a headphone case, I found that it’s the perfect size to carry some of the other objects that are a part of our modern digital lifestyle. Even with a pair of earbud headphones already rolled up and placed inside the case, there’s still enough room for a few small memory cards (SD, MS Duo, etc.) or a couple of Nintendo DS games. It won’t hold anything as large as a AA or even AAA batteries, but it would certainly hold a button battery if necessary. The overall dimensions are just about 2.25” in diameter and roughly 1 1/4” thick.

This case gets a relatively high rating in spite of the higher-than-I-would-like price tag of $9.99 because it does a good job of keeping me organized when I’m on the go. I’ve always hated the fact that if I give in to my cluttered nature and shove my earbuds into my bag without any protection, they inevitably get tangled up. It takes just a few seconds to coil them up and stick them in this little case, and the fact that it doubles as a memory card/game case is a nice little bonus. If you’re already picking up a few of the other excellent products from the iFrogz online store, go ahead and add a ZipBag to the shopping cart. $10 is a small price to pay for organization and the peace of mind you get when you know exactly where your memory card is—there’s nothing worse than lost data.
