Technocutie Moonlight Diner Designer iPod Case
June 15, 2006
The Technocutie Diner Designer iPod Case is made of vinyl and comes in two very shimmery, glittery color choices: Moonlight (blue) or Red Rose. This review covers the Moonlight Diner version, of course, but the pictures simply can’t do the material enough justice. Like the felt cases reviewed earlier this week, the Moonlight Diner case has clear plastic overlays that cover both the screen and the clickwheel opening, as well as a small flap secured with Velcro that allows you to insert the Nano into the case. All of the stitching is black and is very well done.
The fit of the Nano in this case is just perfect, though the click wheel opening on the one I received was just a tad larger than it had to be (which is certainly in keeping with the handmade nature of these cases). The material is smooth and thicker than the felt, which offers more protection for the delicate Nano inside and is certainly more durable. You won’t have any worries about stains either, since you can easily wipe off the case with a damp cloth and it will look as good as new all over again. I also like the color—when you first look at it the case seems to be a very deep blue, but shift it just a bit and the pattern changes slightly; you can also see a bit of a glittery reflection as well.
I reviewed two of Technocutie’s felt iPod cases earlier in the week and gave them good scores, but I like this one even better. It’s fun and just a bit flashy without being over the top, and the vinyl exterior can certainly take more abuse than the felt cases can. I hope that Technocutie starts making pouches out of this cool vinyl material soon! You can get the Nano case for $16 and the 4G/Video iPod case for $18, plus shipping, at the Technocutie online store.
