Technocutie Large Mod Lines Zippered Pouch
June 14, 2006

PDAs and smartphones do some incredible things these days, but they can also fill a gear bag pretty quickly with all the extra “stuff” you need with them. I’m talking about stuff like headphones, a full-size stylus, a charger, memory cards, a spare battery, etc. You can leave all that stuff loose in your bag, which has the potential to scratch one of your expensive devices (or even worse, get lost, in the case of a tiny little 2GB memory card), or you can contain it in some way. Usually I try to put stuff in a pocket in my purse or gear bag, but that doesn’t leave me anywhere to put other small things like breath mints. I must also admit that I often use plastic zipper bags when I travel, but I recently ran across a much better solution.

Enter the Large Mod Lines Zippered Pouch from Technocutie. It measures just a bit over 7.5 inches wide and 4.25 inches tall, and is made of felt like the iPod cases reviewed yesterday. The pouch is a very pretty royal blue with a pink zipper at the top and a fun abstract “lines” design embroidered on both sides in orange. The best surprise is when you open the zipper and find a very cool black satin lining with white polka dots inside. The case is very nicely finished inside and would even be reversible, except for the zipper.
The pouch isn’t that big, but it holds all of the techie stuff that I need to take with me when I’m on the go. That includes a full-size stylus/pen combo, my Gomadic USB power adapter and several tips, a small memory card case, and a pair of earbuds in their own little pouch. It’s big enough to hold an iPod, digital camera, or PDA, but I wouldn’t suggest that unless it’s already in some other case for protection, unless you don’t put anything else in the pouch with it.
I simply love the Technocutie Large Mod Lines Pouch, and it’s a bargain at just $10. I’m hopeful that there will be some more sizes and patterns available soon. A small coin pouch is already available as well, in three different colors, for $5 each. While these pouches don’t offer “extreme protection” because they don’t have extra padding and such, they do a great job of keeping you organized and keeping your purse/gear bag from becoming a nightmare of clutter and junk. You can get them at the Technocutie online store.
