Proporta's Universal Cordura Belt Holster

The Universal Cordura Belt Holster is a handy little pouch with a variety of uses. It measures 5.5 inches long and 4.25 inches wide, and is made of black Cordura fabric that is soft to the touch but very sturdy. It can attach to your belt with the loop on the back, or you can throw it into a gear bag to give your devices just a bit more protection than a case alone. The holster features a nice variety of pockets that can hold everything from memory cards to money/ID/credit cards and business cards.

Starting at the top, with the flap, you’ll see that it has a small zipper pocket that will hold loose change, a memory card, or other small item. It also has a small metal Proporta tag on the front. There’s also a small plastic ring that makes the flap easier to grasp when you want to open it. Pull up the flap, which is fastened with Velcro, and you’ll see that the pouch has a large interior compartment. If you don’t put your device in a case, you can fit both a LifeDrive and an Apple iPod in the compartment, or you can slide in a single Palm OS or Windows Mobile handheld in a leather or silicone case. Just behind the main compartment is a flat compartment sealed with Velcro. It’s just the right size for money, ID, credit, or business cards.

Just in front of the main compartment is another slot that will work for cards and money. Finally, you can pull down the flap in front, which is also secured with Velcro, to find a small clear window pocket. It isn’t big enough to hold your picture ID, but you can slip in a couple of memory cards. There’s also a key ring provided so that you can attach your keys to the case. Both sides of the case have two elastic straps each; the only thing I could think of to put there was my Stylus Central Comfort Grip Shorty. It’s a stylus/pen combo just over four inches long, and it fits perfectly.

If you don’t need the extra storage that a Pod ($50) or Podzilla ($75) offers, you can save a bundle by picking up the Universal Cordura Belt Holster for just $8.95. Since it will hold just about any piece of mobile technology, from a PDA to a phone to an iPod or digital camera it will work with whatever you want to carry.
