JAVOedge Accessories for the Sony PSP

JAVOCharger for Sony PSP

This is a standard wall charger for the Sony PSP, with US plugs. It is similar to the AC adapter that comes with the PSP, though it has a large plug instead of the “box” in the middle of the cord and a small plug, like the Sony charger. Unfortunately the cord is not retractable or detachable, and the prongs on the plug do not fold in, which would have made it into a more portable solution. While it works just fine with my portable console, I did notice that the plug got rather warm when charging the PSP.

I personally am more likely to choose the JAVOSync charging cable though, since it’s only $12.95 and retractable. The price is good though— only $13.08 on sale, with a regular price of $16.99. You can get the JAVOCharger for the Sony PSP at the JAVOedge web site.

JAVOScreen for Sony PSP

The JAVOScreen for Sony PSP is rather similar to other JAVOedge screen protectors for handheld devices, just sized for the PSP screen. It’s a little trickier to install than some, since it covers the whole face of the device. I like that, but since you have to maneuver around buttons on both sides, and the analog stick on the left, it does require some patience and a good idea for lining things up. I tried out the regular version (there’s also an anti-glare version available) and like what I see. The vibrant colors of Lumines still come through clearly, and it’s easy to forget that I’m using a screen protector at all. What I didn’t like is the fact that the protector doesn’t seem to be as durable as others in an adhesive sense— since I had to lift and reposition a couple of times to get it just right, I ended up with some dust on the protector. I used the old tape trick to get it off, but I noticed that around the edges the adhesive came off in a couple of places. While I won’t be removing the protector again until I need a new one, I was a bit surprised at how easily the adhesive came off.

The JAVOScreen protector for the Sony PSP is available in two versions, regular and anti-glare. They’re $12.95 each, or $33.03 for a three pack. You can get them for your Sony PSP at the JAVOedge web site.
