WaterField Cableguy
May 18, 2005
The Cableguy from WaterField is an accessory pouch designed to hold all of the cables, chargers, AC adapters, and other tidbits related to the mobile lifestyle. There are two zippered compartments, one on each side of the case. Each one is lined in the signature WaterField gold fabric so that you can easily see the small things inside. There are also two mesh pockets sewn into each side to organize very small things like earbud headphones, memory cards, UMD discs for your Sony PSP, etc. You can then put the larger cables and AC adapters in front of the pockets.
Though the bag is designed “flat”—there are no gussets on the seams— it works wonderfully well no matter how much you stuff into it. I have a medium Cableguy (sizes described more fully below). On one side I put the AC adapter, retractable cable, and phone adapter from the JAVOedge mobile power kit, as well as my headphone cable and Tapwave Zodiac charger. On the other side I put in the AC adapter and cable for my Sony PSP, two Intec UMD cases (each one holds three discs), and an extra camera battery, with room for more stuff.
The Cableguy comes in three sizes, depending on your mobile storage needs. The small is 8.5 by 5.5; the medium is 10.5 by 6.5, and the large is 14 by 6.5. Prices range from $19 to $25, based on size. Each bag is made of black ballistic nylon, with a choice of four different accent colors: , and there are no color choices available: Blue, Checkers, Lead, and Taxi. I can’t imagine any mobile warrior traveling without one; the Cableguy is just perfect for organizing all of those little bits that usually end up in the bottom of your gear back or worse— lost forever. You can check out photos or order online at the WaterField web site.
