ePorter Card Case
February 28, 2005

The ePorter is a small case designed to hold three Secure Digital (SD) memory expansion cards. It will also work with other small cards such as the Memory Stick Duo and xD cards. The case closes with an easy to use clasp that is unlikely to pop open on its own. Inside you’ll find three “pages” in this book-style plastic case, each with a clip that securely holds one card. You can bend each one out of the way in order to access cards in the back of the case. I like the fact that cards can be easily removed, yet are held firmly in place— it’s very unlikely that you could lose a card when you pick up the case to close the latch, for example.
The ePorter case is made of sturdy yet very lightweight plastic. It measures two inches tall by just under an inch and a half wide. The keyring attachment at the top is quite strong, and the hole is large enough to allow the ePorter to be clipped to a lanyard as well. The exterior has a couple of embossed designs that look like abstract camera controls. There’s also a rectangular area that would be perfect for affixing a small label to identify the contents, which would be helpful if you had more than one case.
The ePorter case does exactly what it was designed to do— protect your memory expansion cards and keep you from losing the expensive little things. The suggested retail price is $7.95, which seems a bit high to me. The case is made of good quality materials, but the edges around the latch were a bit rough on my sample. I’m hoping that more colors will be available in the future; currently the ePorter card case is available only in grey. For more information or online purchase, visit the web site.
