Psarakia

October 27, 2004

CrazySoft has some great games, and Psarakia is no exception. It’s a puzzle game with a fishy theme and two gameplay modes: standard and Memory. The object of the game is help an ice fisherman catch all of the fish, in groups of two or more. They’re trapped in the ice, so you have to tap on the connected groups of fish to set them free, or tap on one of the arrows on the side of the play space— that “thaws” an entire row or column of fish. Easy mode is a fairly straightforward puzzle, while Hard mode adds a time limit. Level up by filling the meter on the left, and the points will really start coming in fast. But watch out— the more fish you “thaw” at once, the faster that meter runs out, and when it’s empty the game is over. Memory mode is self-explanatory; match up pairs of fish to clear the board, with random bonus tiles appearing as well.

As usual with CrazySoft games, the graphics and sound effects are excellent. Psarakia is absolutely beautiful on my Tapwave Zodiac. Don’t despair if you don’t have the latest and greatest though, as the game will work on any Palm OS 3.0 or higher device, color or greyscale. And it’s only $12.95 so it’s also a good bargain. Get a free trial or buy a full license at the CrazySoft web site.
