Covertec Card Case & New InAnyCase Products

Covertec Card Wallet
This is Covertec’s first handheld accessory that is not a case for a device; the Card Wallet is designed to carry memory expansion cards and other small accessories in style. Made of the same luxurious leather found in their other products, this case is butter soft and shows fine attention to detail. From the outside it looks like a small card case, but once you open the flap you’ll see that there’s much more inside. Under the flap you’ll find space for four memory expansion cards, either SD/MMC or Memory Stick. Each slot includes a small cutout at the edge to make removing the card easy. While the case will hold four Memory Sticks, if you have only two you might want to stagger them as you can see in the photo. Putting Memory Sticks opposite each other works perfectly, with no overlapping— but they’ll be easier to get out of the case if they aren’t right next to each other.
The bottom of the case features two business/credit card slots and a surprisingly roomy main compartment. I tried it out with my PC Card 4-in-1 memory card reader first, and it was just right. But it will also hold a couple of Compact Flash cards, two Game Boy Advance cartridges, or even a pair of ear bud headphones with the cord all rolled up. The sides are gusseted so they expand when necessary or lay flat when there isn’t much in the case. That makes this case very useful for almost anyone, so long as they have some small accessories to protect and store.
The only slight downside is that the top flap can tend to gap open a bit if you try to stuff a lot of things in here at once. Obviously since it’s a memory card case you don’t want a magnetic closure, and a tab closure would have added unwanted bulk to the case. That’s a relatively small quibble though, as I’d much rather have all of my small essentials contained instead of having them “wandering” all over my bag! I’ve found it best to put the case in my bag upside down, since the weight of the PC card and business cards will tend to hold it closed rather well.
The Covertec Card Wallet comes in your choice of black, brown, or tan, all with a tan interior and beige overstitching at the edges. It costs $29.95 and will be available for shipment to the US within the next two weeks (it is already available in Europe). For more information or online purchase, visit the Covertec web site.
PocketGoddess Rating for the Covertec Card Wallet:
InAnyCase Flash Folio, Battery Cases, and Memory Card Holders
There are several products to mention here— InAnyCase has some great new products that you might want to take a look at. I won’t be giving them standard PocketGoddess ratings, since they advertise here on the site, but rest assured that they all have received the PocketGoddess seal of approval!
The first is the Flash Folio— this case is a dream come true for people like me who have WAY too many memory expansion cards. I have seventeen of them, some with single applications, some with lots of MP3 files and ebooks. Since SD cards are so tiny, it can be hard to figure out what to do with them, and that’s where the Flash Folio comes to the rescue. It has 18 small mesh compartments, and each closes with just a bit of Velcro. They’re just perfect for Compact Flash cards, SD cards, and Memory Sticks, and can also accomodate Game Boy Advance cartridges with just a bit of a stretch. The black mesh does make it a little difficult to see the name on each card, but the case comes with a removable panel in the middle with space to list the contents of each pocket.
There are also two slightly larger compartments at the bottom of the case that can hold PC cards, CF cards, business cards, and earbuds. A carefully bundled sync cable or travel charger just might fit as well, making the Flash Folio the perfect companion for those who travel a great deal. It is made of nylon with cook black accents and comes in your choice of yellow, red, grey, or black. The case zips all the way around to close (so NOTHING can fall out and get lost) and also has an extra protective flap with Velcro. A small clear bit of plastic on the spine of the case is perfect for a label holder.
Other new InAnyCase products include battery holders with dividers to separate fresh and discharged rechargeable batteries, as well as the new 6 way case. It can hold four AA batteries as well as a single memory card, making it ideal for digital camera enthusiasts. Another model holds AA batteries and two GBA cardtridges. Prices are reasonable, service is great, and if you want to purchase any of these products, just click on the ad to the left of this article to go directly to the InAnyCase.com web site.
