Pygmy Pouch Universal PDA Case

July 24, 2003

The Pygmy Pouch is made of a very nice, smooth, microfiber fabric— the kind that never seems to get dirty, because dirt just brushes right off. It measures roughly six inches tall, 4 inches wide, and about an inch deep, though of course it can expand just a bit depending on what you put in it. There is a small pocket on the front, a sturdy belt clip on the back, and a top flap secured by Velcro. There’s a handy little loop attached to the bottom of the flap that helps you get a good grip and open it quickly when the need arises. Inside you’ll find a soft interior that’s nicely padded to protect your expensive handheld gear. The Pygmy Pouch is basically one large compartment, but there is a single wide elastic strap near the bottom of the case that can work as something of a “holster” for your handheld device. If you don’t want to use it, it’s easily pushed to the back of the case.

As far as stuff is concerned, the Pygmy can hold a great deal— a handheld with headphones for example, or a digital camera with extra battery and memory cards. It would easily hold a Game Boy and a few games, or anything else that you can come up with— sunglasses, keys, credit/business cards, a bit of cash, a tube of ChapStick, etc. This would be the perfect accessory to take with you to the park, an outdoor festival, or anywhere that you need just a few things, but not necessarily a full purse, backpack, or gear bag. The belt clip is especially sturdy—it’s a one piece design that is actually a bit difficult to attach to your wasistband or bag strap, but that also means that it isn’t likely to come off all that easily either. It would be nice to see a version without a clip though, for those who would like to use the Pygmy Pouch as extra protection within another bag. A D-ring attachment option would also be welcome, to allow the Pygmy Pouch to be worn with a lanyard (assuming that there wasn’t anything too heavy in it) or attached to a bag strap or wrist strap for added security.

The Pygmy Pouch is very reasonably priced at $19.95, but there’s an added bonus if you get one before the end of the month— free shipping in included in the purchase price until July 31st. You can get one for yourself at the Pygmy Pouch web site.
