StylusPlus Accessories for your Handheld

July 22, 2002

I got the oportunity to review three different selections from StylusPlus, and I like them all. My favorite is the S + 3 Way Grip, because it has a cooshy rubberized grip area available in three different colors: red, blue, or black. It also comes with a black pen and a mechanical pencil, and a pocket clip of course. The pens wrote well and the mechanical pencil also worked as expected. There is a bit of rattle if you shake the pen, and I thought I’d mention that here since that sort of thing does bother some people. You can’t beat the price though— regularly it sells for $12.99, but right now this particular model is on sale for $6.99.

The other two stylus pens I got to try out are the PDA Stylus, 4 Way Wood (on sale for $15.99) and the S + 4 Way Original (on sale for $14.99). Both of them are very nice styli, and the wood version is particularly nice because it’s a little unusual and not the sort of thing that you see every day. It may not be as soft as the “grip” stylus, but the wood does feel very good under my fingers, and the overall unit has a very nice weight.

But what really sets these pens apart is the service that goes with them. That’s because StylusPlus actually allows you to order exactly the tips that you want to go with your new accessory. Do you want two black pens and a stylus? Do you want a red pen, and orange highlighter, a mechanical pencil, and a stylus? Just about any combination you can think of can be accomodated, with a very small service charge. Ordering refills is also very easy, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. It’s also possible to order stylus tips of different colors. That’s a real plus for me, as I have always preferred very brightly colored stylus tips (like orange or red) on my styli— that makes it much easier to see exactly where I’m tapping on my handheld’s screen.

If you’re looking for something a little different when it comes to a full size stylus, I’d encourage you to check out the offerings from StylusPlus. They have a nice selection, and I especially appreciate being able to customize my writing instrument to fulfill my needs when I buy it, instead of having to buy a lot of refills just to get what I wanted in the first place.

PocketGoddess rating for the stylii from StylusPlus.com: 5 out of 5
