Crossword 365
November 20, 2001
Tapping on a square will give you a clue for that word, and you can then use Graffiti to enter in the letters. If you get the clue for a horizontal word, and you’re interested in the vertical one, just drag your stylus down that line and the game will give you the correct clue. It’s a little annoying sometimes to enter your answers, since the colored box that denotes the space you’re writing in sometimes doesn’t start in the first letter of a given word, but that’s a relatively minor detail.Another nice feature is the ability to cheat if necessary. You can tap at the bottom of the screen to set the cheat ability to “letter” if you just need one square filled, “word” if you need a whole word filled in, or “puzzle” if you really want to do some major cheating. Once you set that preference, all you have to do is tap the little question mark icon at the bottom of the screen to see your hint.
The best part though is that once you install Crossword 365, you also get a conduit for your desktop computer that automatically downloads a new puzzle every day that you HotSync. That means that you’ll never run out of entertainment on the run. Puzzles stay on your handheld until you finish and delete them. That’s nice, if you’d like to have several puzzles stored up until you have some free time, but you should be careful if you don’t have that much free memory on your device.
If you love crossword puzzles, then you need Crossword 365. You can get it from the Handmark web site for $14.99, or pick it up at your favorite electronics retailer.
