The Android Market is no more–Google says it’s time to Play. While I’m not so sure that’s the best name for Google’s new media store–the term makes me think “gaming” rather than music, books, and movies–there’s no arguing with the great deals they’re offering this week.
There will be several new 25 cent specials each day. To get things started, we have:
- Music: NOW 41. There were a few songs on my wish list that I was planning to buy at 99 cents to $1.29, so getting the whole thing for 25 cents is a no-brainer, even adding in a couple of extra cents for sales tax.
- eBook: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
- Movie Rental: Puncture, starring Chris Evans, Vinessa Shaw, Michael Biehn, and Marshall Bell.
- Android App: Where’s My Water
Some of these deals are being price matched by Amazon, so if you have a Kindle or a Kindle Fire you might want to check and see if you can get the same price there in order to keep your media consolidated in once place and minimize DRM hassles.
Be sure to visit Google Play each day in order to see each day’s deals.
