News Bits – Brando, Developer One, SplashData, VITO, and WebIS

by PocketGoddess on April 19, 2006

  • Developer One has released Agenda Fusion 8 and CodeWallet Pro 2006 for Windows Mobile. Agenda Fusion 8 has a whole host of enhancements and new features, including dual reminders, a new birthday/anniversary display, and an integrated call log. Get more information or get your own copy here.
  • The good folks over at BoxWave have certainly been busy; they released several new accessories over the past few days. Highlights include a desktop USB cradle for the Cingular 8125 and new FlexiSkin cases for the Dopod 818 Pro and the Sharp SX813. Check out the new products here.
  • WebIS has released updates for Pocket Informant 2005 Rev 5, WebIS Toolbox (now version 3.1) and WebIS Money (now version 2.2). The updates are free for all registered users, and you can get them here. The company also announced that they are currently working on Pocket Informant 2007, and anyone who purchases Pocket Informant 2005 now will automatically get a free copy when the 2007 version is released.
  • VITO AudioNotes has also received an update, with a new append feature that allows you to continue recording in the same note file after the recording is stopped, as well as the ability to automatically record incoming and outgoing calls. You can get a copy for $19.95 at the VITO Technology web site.
  • SplashData has updated SplashID and SplashPhoto to fully support Windows Mobile 5.0 and the new Treo 700W smartphone. I’ve been using a beta release of SplashID for quite a while now and will be posting a full review shortly–it definitely keeps my mobile life, with all the accompanying passwords, organized and secure. You can find out more or download a trial copy here.
  • Brando has just released two new USB mice; one includes two USB ports so you can leave your hub at home when you travel; the other includes a laser pointer and thermometer. The USB Mouse Hub looks particularly helpful, as it is an optical mouse with a two port hub and a retractable cable, and comes in your choice of red or black for $16. The videogame section has also added several accessories for the Nintendo DS Lite, which is quite helpful if, like me, you just couldn’t wait for the US release. Screen protectors, a USB charging cable, and two different cases are available now, with more coming soon. You can find Brando’s huge selection of products here.
