Next-Gen Gaming

Sounds like there’s going to be a lot of competition for my next-gen gaming dollar– the announcements from E3 are juicier than I expected. First there was the XBox 360 premiere on MTV; the announcement was a bit short on details, but the unit itself looks great. Then there was the PS3, which many industry insiders are saying is much more powerful than the next-gen XBox. I’ll probably end up getting the PS3, because I generally seem to be drawn to their games/products.
Nintendo’s offering though, may really be a Revolution, just like the code name for their next console. I wasn’t all that interested/impressed until I read an article on MSNBC that mentions the ability to download a vast catalog of previous Nintendo games, from the NES to the N64. While I’ve currently a”Sony fangirl” as far as home consoles are concernd, I’ve always loved Nintendo’s games, and especially some of the older ones. Must be because my NES and a pile of games got sold at a garage sale all those years ago. . .
In any case, I’m certainly keeping my eyes and ears open for further details on the next generation home console offerings from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. It’s definitely a great time to be a gamer.
PS Anyone get a peek at the new Nintendo GBA Micro?? It’s unbelievably tiny, features removable faceplates for customization, and a brighter screen than any other Nintendo handheld so far. I’d love to get one, but I’m afraid that screen might be too tiny for anyone over the age of 12 to see clearly!
