RoadWired APS Laptop Sleeve

What’s the APS for, you ask? It stands for Advanced Protection System, but what it really means is that this RoadWired Laptop Sleeve not only protects your portable computer from everyday bumps and bruises, it’s also been designed to protect fragile electronics from corrosion damage caused by environmental issues such as pollution and humidity. Of course the protection goes much further than that– this case is very nicely padded and features a “weather flap” designed to keep out as much moisture and dust as possible. The weather flap closes with Velcro, and features a small mesh zippered pocket underneath for small accessories. The case itself opens with a zipper at the top; this small opening can be somewhat difficult to use if your laptop is quite large, but again the idea here is maximum protection. The inside of the case is lined with soft mesh and won’t cause any cosmetic damage to your laptop.

Quality materials were used throughout, from the tightly woven exterior that easily brushes clean, to the all metal hardware for zippers, pulls, and attachments. A small carrying handle is riveted to the top of the case, and it also comes with a removeable, adjustable shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is padded, and the pad is accented with a border that matches the color of the main bag, which is a nice touch. I wish that the pad were a bit wider though, to help with weight distribution, and that it was lined with a more slip-proof fabric; I had a hard time keeping the bag on my shoulder when fully loaded. The other feature I missed was a pocket on the back to store papers and file folders, though it is possible to slip them into the main compartment of the case, between the laptop and the mesh lining.

Overall I found the Advanced Protection Laptop Sleeve to be practical and of good quality. It come in two sizes, compact or large, and in your choice of all black or grey, yellow, or red with black accents. The small sleeve is $34.95 and holds computers up to 12x10x1.5, while the large sleeve is $39.95 and will hold a laptop up to 14x11x2.
