Fish Tycoon is from LDW Software, the same company that provided us with Little Palm Pet and Plant Tycoon. This time you’re charged with the task of raising and selling fish with the purpose of finding the seven magical fish that will restore balance and harmony to Isola. If you’ve played Plant Tycoon, you’ll find a similar gameplay experience with some very nice enhancements.
For starters, the graphics are absolutely gorgeous. They’ve gotten a dramatic increase in quality and detail over previous games. Instead of the cartoony style of Plant Tycoon, Fish Tycoon uses a photorealistic style for both the tank background and the fish. The muted colors also lend themselves to a relaxing frame of mind, which is perfectly appropriate for a game of this type. Finding the magic fish means that you’ll have to raise fish, feed them, watch carefully for signs of illness (ick or fungus), and sell them in your fish store to finance your breeding and research programs.
This time around you have access to some great supplies to help you in your quest, including fish medicines, aeration systems and temperature regulators, as well as a second fish tank to increase the number of fish you can raise. You can also research fish food and fish environment in order to improve your tanks and ensure that you can take care of some of the rarer, more temperamental species. My favorite, of course, has to be the ornaments you can buy for your selling tank: the deep sea diver, the sunken treasure chest, and the coral reef. The enhancements help to create more interest in your selling tank, allowing you to charge higher prices for your fish. Even better, you can research advertising as well, so that you can bring in even more customers.
Fish Tycoon, like its predecessor, is one of those games you can play for literally forever– while there is an ultimate goal, the simulation-based gameplay is open-ended, strategic but not frustrating, and generally a complete joy. There’s nothing out there like it (except for Plant Tycoon, if you’d rather try your green thumb) and it’s a welcome break from the standard arcade, shoot ‘em up, and puzzle games I’ve come to expect on the Palm OS platform. i think fish tycoon is a good game but it takes to long in the game to have them grow to an adult

Well so far all ive played is the free trial. But im still looking under my bed to fine 19.95! I excited to get the full version. I think fish tycoon is a really fun game. 8.5 stars!

I have the full version of Fish Tycoon and have also beat it. I loved every minute of it. I work 45 hrs a week and have a husband and 3 kids so the slower pace of the game worked great for me. I recommened this game to anyone who isnt in a hurry to get to the end. (Now that I have beat it I wish there was another level you could go to.)
